Norman Findlay
Norman Findlay (1890–1949) was an English footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Born in Walker, England, he was 5 ft 9 in tall. His career included time with Newcastle City, Blyth Spartans, and Coventry City, where he made 9 league appearances. He also had spells with Heart of Midlothian (no league appearances) and as a guest for Walker Celtic.
Off the pitch, Findlay worked as a carpenter in shipyards. He served as a corporal in McCrae's Battalion of the Royal Scots during the First World War but was not sent to the Western Front. He was released from the army in September 1916 to work in the Newcastle shipyards. After the war, he moved to Isleworth and repaired barges on the River Thames. Norman Findlay died in 1949 in Ealing, England.
