Meth Gator is a 2024 American action film directed by Christopher Douglas-Olen Ray and produced by The Asylum. It’s a mockbuster of Cocaine Bear. The story follows a DEA agent and a local sheriff who team up with locals on an Everglades island to hunt a giant, meth-fueled alligator.

The film stars LaRonn Marzett Ray Acevedo, Vanesa Tamayo, Bruce Peoples, and Patrick Labyorteaux. It was written by Joe Roche and Lauren Pritchard, with cinematography by Thomas Hennessy, editing by Zach Lorkiewicz, and music by Chris Ridenhour, Christopher Cano, and Mikel Shane Prather. The Asylum produced the movie, which runs 90 minutes and is in English.

Meth Gator was released on DVD on March 25, 2024, and later premiered in theaters and on digital platforms on August 2, 2024.

Production notes: The project was announced in February 2023 under the working title Attack of the Meth Gator, with filming completed by February 25. At San Diego Comic-Con 2023, it was renamed Meth Gator. The idea drew from 2019 reports about “meth gators,” which some scientists dismissed as unlikely. Writer Brett Taylor claimed his 2019 script inspired the film, though he called the concept lame. The DVD release was handled by High Fliers Films.
