Metabacetus

Metabacetus is a genus of beetles in the ground beetle family (Carabidae). It sits in the subfamily Pterostichinae and the tribe Pterostichini. In simple terms, it’s a group within the animal kingdom, arthropod phylum, insect class, and beetle order (Coleoptera). The genus was named by Bates in 1892. There are about eight described species in Metabacetus, including Metabacetus immarginatus.
