Messidor
Messidor is the tenth month of the French Republican Calendar. It means "harvest" and is the first month of the summer quarter. It lasts 30 days, split into three 10‑day weeks called decades. It runs from about June 19–20 to about July 18–19, after Prairial and before Thermidor. Most days are named after plants, but the 5th day (Quintidi) and the 10th day (Decadi) of each decade are special: the 5th is named after a domestic animal, and the 10th is named after an agricultural tool.
