Mersin University, also known as Mersin Üniversitesi, is a public university in Mersin, Turkey. It was established on July 3, 1992. Its motto is “A world university in the light of science and modernity.” The university is led by Rector Prof. Dr. Erol Yaşar. It has about 39,000 students and around 1,800 academic staff. The campus offers research and sports facilities in Mersin city center and in other towns. In 2005, the Mersin Technology Development Zone (Technoscope) was created to connect university research with industry and help turn new ideas into real products. The school colors are ultramarine and orange, and the website is mersin.edu.tr.
