Mensa (plural: mensae) is a planetary geology term for a flat-topped hill or high plain with steep, cliff-like sides. The name comes from Latin for "table" and is related to the Spanish word "mesa," also meaning "table." In space geology, mensae are described much like mesas in the Southwestern United States.
