Meade County High School
Meade County High School is a public high school in Brandenburg, Kentucky. It was established in 1914 and is part of the Meade County Schools district. The current campus on Old State Road opened in 1962 and serves grades 9 through 12.
As of 2023–2024, about 1,468 students attend, with roughly 69 teachers, giving a student-teacher ratio of about 21 to 1. The school colors are green and white, and the mascot is the Greenwave for boys and the Lady Wave for girls. Most Meade County residents attend MCHS, while students living on Fort Knox go to DoDEA Fort Knox Middle High School.
The campus is undergoing major renovations and extensions starting around 2026, with completion projected for summer 2028. The former Brandenburg High School campus on High Street later became Central Elementary, which closed in the late 1990s and burned down on September 3, 1999.
