Eric Stokes (American football executive)

Eric Stokes (born December 18, 1973) is an American football scout and executive and a former NFL safety. He played college football at Nebraska, where he won two national championships in 1994 and 1995. He was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the fifth round of the 1997 NFL Draft and played safety for Seattle from 1997 to 1998. He was then selected by the Cleveland Browns in the 1999 expansion draft but sustained an injury and retired from playing.

Stokes returned to the Seahawks in 2000 as a scout and held various personnel roles with Seattle through 2011. He later worked as a scout and executive with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (director of college scouting, 2012–2013), the Miami Dolphins (assistant general manager, 2014–2015), and the Carolina Panthers (director of college scouting, 2016–2019).

In 2020, Stokes joined the Washington Football Team as director of pro personnel, was promoted to senior director of player personnel in 2021, a role he held through 2023. His contract was not renewed for the 2024 season. He recorded 11 tackles in his NFL playing career.
