Maxime Mermoz (born 28 July 1986) is a French former professional rugby union player who played as a centre. He started his career with Toulouse, then played for Perpignan, Toulon, Leicester Tigers, Newcastle Falcons, and finished his club career back at Toulouse. He represented France from 2008 to 2016, earning 35 caps and scoring 15 points. He helped France win the 2006 Under-21 Rugby World Championship. His first senior cap came in July 2008 against Australia, and he made his Six Nations debut in 2009 against Scotland. He scored his first France try at the 2011 Rugby World Cup, intercepting a Dan Carter pass near the halfway line to score against New Zealand. In 2013 he was an unused substitute when Toulon beat Clermont in the Heineken Cup Final. In 2017 he briefly joined Leicester Tigers as injury cover for Matt Toomua and Manu Tuilagi, making his debut against Gloucester and scoring a try. He then signed for Newcastle Falcons in February 2017 to join them after the season.
