Mauritanian shrew
Mauritanian shrew (Crocidura lusitania) is a small mammal in the shrew family. It is listed as Least Concern by the IUCN. The species belongs to the genus Crocidura and was first described by Dollman in 1915. It is found in Algeria, Burkina Faso, Eritrea, Ethiopia, The Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, and Sierra Leone. Its natural habitats are dry savanna and subtropical or tropical dry shrubland.
