Calderys
Calderys is a private company that provides high‑temperature refractory solutions. It is based in Paris, France, and was founded in 2005 when Plibrico and Lafarge Réfractaires merged. In 2023, it was bought by a U.S. private investment firm and joined with HarbisonWalker International (HWI), forming a larger group that serves customers worldwide. Since 2023, the Americas region uses the Calderys brand, while the rest of the world continues to operate under Calderys.
Today, Calderys runs about 50 production sites in 30 countries (as of 2025) and employs around 4,500 people. The company makes refractories, casting fluxes, and molding solutions for customers around the world. Michel Cornelissen has been President and CEO since February 2023.
