Mari Eder
Mari Eder, born Mari Laukkanen on 9 November 1987 in Eno, Finland, is a Finnish former biathlete and cross-country skier. She competed for Finland in the 2010 Winter Olympics, with her best result being 43rd in the individual and 68th in the sprint.
In biathlon, her best World Cup result is seventh in a mixed relay at Kontiolahti in the 2011/12 season, and her best overall finish that season was 36th. She earned her first individual World Cup podium with a third place in a sprint at Kontiolahti during the 2013/14 season. At the Biathlon World Championships, her best finish by 2017 was fourth in Hochfilzen in the women’s 10 km individual; her previous best was sixth place as part of the Finnish mixed relay team in 2009. In March 2017, she won both the 7.5 km sprint and the 10 km pursuit at Holmenkollen.
In cross-country skiing, she had notable success at the Under-23 level, earning podiums with gold in 2010 Hinterzarten in the sprint, silver in 2009 at Praz de Lys-Sommand, and bronze in 2008 in Malles Venosta. In the FIS Cross-Country World Cup, her best results were fifth in the individual sprint in Sochi (2013) and fifth in the team sprint at Toblach (2017). She also finished 15th in the cross-country sprint at the 2014 Sochi Olympics.
Eder retired after the 2022/23 season. She married Austrian Benjamin Eder on 26 July 2018 and has lived in Austria since 2013. Her club is Enon Kisa-Pojat.
