Billy Griggs, born William Luther Griggs on September 16, 1968, in Anaheim, California, is a former American BMX racer. Known as "Mr. Bill," he competed in the Old School and Mid School eras and had his best years from 1985 to 1996. As an amateur, he won two World Championships, showing his early talent. In the professional ranks, he was a strong competitor who regularly made main events, though he did not capture a pro world title. In 2013, Griggs was inducted into the National BMX Hall of Fame for his achievements and impact on the sport. After racing, he helped develop the Ultra Box Series frame with Gary Turner and built many custom frames for top riders, including GT frames used by Mike Day and Jill Kintner in the 2008 Olympics. Griggs is remembered for his skill, longevity, and contributions to BMX frame design.
