Maksim Stjopin
Maksim Stjopin (born 8 April 2003) is a Finnish professional footballer who plays as a forward for Ilves in Veikkausliiga. He was born in Estonia and moved to Tampere, Finland, when he was one year old. He is 1.78 meters tall and wears number 8 for Ilves.
Stjopin began his youth career with TaFa, TPV, and Ilves. He played for Ilves II in 2020 (13 appearances, 5 goals) and also appeared for Ilves in Veikkausliiga that year (3 appearances, 2 goals). In 2021 he moved to FC Nordsjælland in Denmark, usually with the U-19 squad. On loan to Helsinki-based HJK for the 2023 season, he made 6 appearances and scored 1 goal. He returned to Ilves in 2024, and has continued competing in the Veikkausliiga, recording multiple appearances and goals with the club.
Internationally, Stjopin has represented Finland at youth levels, including U16, U17, U19, U20, and U21. Honours include winning the Veikkausliiga and the Finnish League Cup with HJK in 2023, and Ilves finishing as Veikkausliiga runners-up in 2024.
