Rivalries
The Tigers had a notable rivalry with the Tilburg Trappers. Games between them were often close and heated. From the 2001–02 season, Amstel Tijgers commonly challenged Tilburg, ending many of Tilburg’s playoff runs, though Tilburg finally beat them in the 2006–07 playoffs. The Tigers’ performance declined in 2008–09, and they dropped out of the Eredivisie in 2010 due to weak results and financial difficulties.

Notable past rivalries involved players such as Trevor Sherban vs Casey Vanschagen, Karl Dykhuis vs Peter van Biezen, Michael Pace vs Jeff Trembecky, Kevin Hoogsteen vs Bjorn Willemse, and David Hoogsteen vs Bjorn Willemse.
