Moenkhausia oligolepis, commonly known as the redeye tetra or the glass tetra, is a small ray-finned freshwater fish in the family Acestrorhamphidae. It belongs to the order Characiformes and the genus Moenkhausia. The binomial name is Moenkhausia oligolepis (Günther, 1864). This species has also been described as Tetragonopterus oligolepis (Günther, 1864).
