Mahesh Bhatt filmography
Mahesh Bhatt is an Indian film director, writer, and producer known for Hindi cinema, with some Urdu and Telugu films. He has directed and produced about eighty films across many genres and often tackled social issues such as discrimination, casteism, corruption, and injustice. His notable films include Saaransh (1984), India’s entry to the 57th Academy Awards; Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke (1993), a National Film Award – Special Mention; Sardari Begum (1996), Best Feature Film in Urdu; and Zakhm (1998), which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration and a Filmfare Award for Best Story. He and his brother Mukesh Bhatt started Vishesh Films and wrote stories for more than twenty films, many box-office successes. Notable titles: Raaz (2002), Jism (2003), Murder (2004), Gangster (2006), Woh Lamhe (2006), Jannat (2008), Murder 2 (2011), and Aashiqui 2 (2013).
