Hacı Sabancı (25 June 1935 – 26 June 1998) was a Turkish businessman and philanthropist. He was the second generation of the Sabancı family, and the son of Hacı Ömer Sabancı, founder of Sabancı Holding, one of Turkey’s largest industrial and financial groups. Born in Akçakaya village, Kayseri Province, he spent most of his life in Adana. After dropping out of secondary school, he joined the family’s car dealership and cotton export businesses, and later held senior roles in Sabancı Holding. He also served as president of the board of trustees of the Sabancı Foundation VakSA. He married Özcan in 1959, and they had three children: Ömer (born 1959), Mehmet (born 1963), and Demet. Mehmet died in 2005. Hacı Sabancı died in Istanbul on 26 June 1998, at age 63, after a two-year battle with lung cancer. He was buried in Adana Asri Cemetery beside his brother Özdemir.
