Maechidius dani is a species of beetle in the Scarabaeidae family. It was described by Telnov in 2020. This beetle lives in Indonesia, specifically in the Irian Jaya region, in mid-montane rainforests at about 2050 meters above sea level. Adults are about 9.1 mm long. The back and underside are uniformly black-brown, while the labroclypeus, mouthparts, antennae, legs, and most of the underside are reddish brown. The species is named after the Dani people and the Dani language of the Baliem Valley.
