MTV Base (UK & Ireland)
MTV Base (UK & Ireland) was a UK pay‑TV music channel from Paramount Networks UK & Australia. It focused on urban music, including hip hop, R&B, grime, garage, reggae, funk, soul and dance. The channel launched on 1 July 1999 for viewers in the United Kingdom and Ireland. It closed on 31 March 2022 and was replaced by MTV 90s. The last video shown on the channel was Shutdown by Skepta. MTV Base also operated in Africa, where it continued broadcasting until 2026, with regional versions in other countries changing over time.
