Lupinus sericatus
Lupinus sericatus, also known as Cobb Mountain lupine, is a lupine native only to California's North Coast Ranges north of the San Francisco Bay Area. It grows in forests, woodlands, and chaparral on slopes and canyons, and it easily colonizes disturbed habitats. It is a perennial herb that reaches about 0.5 meters tall. Each palmate leaf has 4 to 7 broad, spoon-shaped leaflets, each 3–5 cm long. The plant produces a raceme of several whorls of purple flowers, with each flower 1–2 cm long. The fruit is a hairy legume pod, 2–3 cm long. NatureServe lists this species as Imperiled.
