Prime Minister of Saint Kitts and Nevis

The prime minister is the head of government of the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis. The current prime minister is Terrance Drew, who has held the office since 6 August 2022. The office was created on 19 September 1983, and the first prime minister was Kennedy Simmonds.

The prime minister is appointed by the Governor-General, usually the member of the National Assembly who appears to command the majority support. If the National Assembly passes a vote of no confidence, the prime minister must resign within three days or seek to have the assembly dissolved and call a general election; if neither happens, the governor-general can remove the prime minister. The prime minister remains in office only as long as they are a member of the National Assembly; the office becomes vacant if they lose their seat (unless Parliament is dissolved).

There is no fixed term length for the prime minister.
