List of parishes in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Dublin
The Archdiocese of Dublin is a Catholic region in eastern Ireland. It covers the city and the traditional county of Dublin, most of County Wicklow, and parts of counties Carlow, Kildare, Laois and Wexford.
In 1975 there were 163 parishes; by 2009 this rose to about 200. One parish is non-territorial and serves the Traveller community. The other 199 parishes are grouped into 16 deaneries since 2004, with pastoral responsibility shared by auxiliary bishops or episcopal vicars. Each deanery is led by a vicar forane to help the Archbishop with administration.
In 2021, Archbishop Dermot Farrell established the Building Hope task force to reorganize parish life. This led to 53 parish partnerships within 15 deaneries, which were implemented in Advent 2022.
Deaneries include Blessington (in South Dublin, and parts of Carlow, Kildare, Laois and Wicklow), South Dublin, Tallaght, Blanchardstown, Fingal North, Maynooth (covering South Dublin and Kildare), Fingal South East, Fingal South West, Howth, Bray (in Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown and Wicklow), Donnybrook (in Dublin city and Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown), Wicklow, Ashford/Cullenswood (in Dublin city), North City Centre (Dublin city), and South City Centre (Dublin city). Each deanery has a vicar forane.
There is also a diocese-wide parish for the Travelling People, established in 1980 by Archbishop Dermot Ryan and currently overseen by Fr. Paul O'Driscoll.
