Circus (2000 film)
Circus is a 2000 British-American crime film directed by Rob Walker and written by David Logan. It stars John Hannah, Famke Janssen, Peter Stormare, Brian Conley, Fred Ward and Eddie Izzard. The movie runs 92 minutes and is in English. It was released in the United Kingdom on May 5, 2000, and in the United States on September 15, 2000.
The story follows Leo and Lily, a couple who are professional con artists hoping to retire. Leo’s cousin Bruno runs a casino and needs help with money troubles. A man named Julius hires Leo to murder his wife as part of a blackmail scheme, but the plan is built on deception. Other characters include Moose, who is looking for a woman named Gloria, and Troy, a violent loan shark. A tangle of schemes, betrayals and murders spirals toward a bloody finale, as Leo tries to stay one step ahead of everyone chasing him. Hinda Hicks has a cameo as Kelly. On Rotten Tomatoes, 9% of 11 critics gave the film a positive review (average 4.7/10).
