List of defunct airports in China

Content sourced from Wikipedia, licensed under CC BY-SA 3.0.

China’s rapid growth in air travel has required bigger, newer airports. As demand increased, many older airports stopped civilian operations or were repurposed for military or other use. This article lists former civil airports in China. The dates shown indicate when each airport operated for civilian flights; some airports may have had non-civil uses outside these dates. For example, Shenyang Dongta Airport was established in 1921, but civilian operations began in 1950.
