Chantelle Cameron
Chantelle Cameron is a British professional boxer from Northampton, England. Born on May 14, 1991, she grew up loving fighting movies andTV shows. She started kickboxing at age 10 and Muay Thai at 16. As an amateur, she won two English national titles and earned medals at European championships, including a silver in 2010 and a bronze in 2011, where she lost to Katie Taylor. Cameron later beat Taylor in 2023 to confirm her place among boxing’s best.
Her professional career began in 2017 with Cyclone Promotions. She quickly won the IBO lightweight title in 2017 and defended it in the following years. Cameron moved up to higher weight classes and collected more belts, including WBC Silver, WBC and Ring titles in the light-welterweight division.
In 2020, she won the WBC female light-welterweight title after defeating Adriana Araújo. Cameron then became the undisputed world champion in November 2022 by defeating Jessica McCaskill in Abu Dhabi, making her the first British woman to hold all the major belts at light-welterweight.
She fought Katie Taylor for the undisputed lightweight/welterweight status in May 2023 in Dublin, losing by a close majority decision. In 2024, Cameron switched promoters to Queensberry Promotions and later to Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) in 2025.
Notable recent fights include a 2024 win to claim the interim WBC female super-lightweight title and a 2025 defense of that interim title against Jessica Camara in New York. In September 2025, she was briefly elevated to full WBC champion after Katie Taylor vacated the title, but Cameron later vacated the belt in October 2025 to protest unequal rounds for female boxers.
Overall, Cameron has fought 22 professional bouts, winning 21 (8 by knockout) and losing 1 (to Katie Taylor). She is known for her strong jab, footwork, and determination to win major titles across multiple boxing organizations.
