List of English words of Arabic origin (K–M)

Content sourced from Wikipedia, licensed under CC BY-SA 3.0.

These English words are of Arabic origin, either directly or through other languages before English. Most came to English via Romance languages. To be included, a word must be documented in etymology dictionaries as descended from Arabic. The list draws on a small set of dictionaries. Words related to Islam are not included; see the Glossary of Islam for those terms. Very rare or archaic words are omitted. For a larger list of rarely used words, check Wiktionary.
