Blue Mood: The Songs of T-Bone Walker
Blue Mood: The Songs of T-Bone Walker is a 2004 tribute album by Duke Robillard honoring the songs of T-Bone Walker. Released on Stony Plain, it blends blues, jump blues, rhythm and blues, and swing revival. Robillard produced the album. In his discography, it sits after Exalted Lover (2003) and before The Duke Meets the Earl (2004). Critics praised Robillard's take on the material: JazzTimes said he has the funky, slicing tone on "T-Bone Shuffle" and "T-Bone Boogie." AllMusic described "Love Is a Gamble" with barroom blues and drum brushes that slow to a creepy crawl, recalling Dr. John or Delbert McClinton. All tracks are written by T-Bone Walker, unless noted otherwise.
