Liptena despecta, the small black liptena, is a butterfly in the Lycaenidae family. It lives in forests across parts of Africa, including eastern Nigeria (the Cross River loop), Cameroon, Gabon, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (Uele, North Kivu, Tshopo, Lualaba), Uganda, and northwestern Tanzania. Synonyms include Pseuderesia despecta, Liptena modestissima, and Epitola langi. The species was described by Holland in 1890.
