Pluto × Baby Pluto
Pluto x Baby Pluto is a collaborative studio album by Future and Lil Uzi Vert. It was released on November 13, 2020, with a deluxe edition following on November 17, 2020. The project was teased starting in July 2020 and previews continued through release.
The title combines Future’s nickname Pluto (from his 2012 album Pluto) and Lil Uzi Vert’s Baby Pluto (a moniker he uses, notably in Eternal Atake). This was Future’s second release in 2020 after High Off Life, and Lil Uzi Vert’s third release of 2020 after Eternal Atake and its deluxe edition.
Before the drop, both artists paused their Instagram activity and released a visual teaser directed by Hype Williams. On July 31, 2020, they released two joint songs, "Patek" and "Over Your Head," which later appeared on the deluxe edition. DJ Esco released a teaser trailer on September 20, 2020, and a video of the two rappers playing soccer went up on September 22. The duo officially announced the project on November 11, with cover art and tracklist revealed the next day. The cover shows two astronauts in a warped space scene.
A single from the project, "Patek / Over Your Head," was released ahead of the album. Pluto x Baby Pluto debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200, earning about 105,000 album-equivalent units in its first week (5,500 pure sales). It also generated roughly 136.11 million on-demand streams in the week ending November 28, 2020. The album runs about 54 minutes and features a wide range of producers, including DJ Esco and Wheezy. It was released through Epic, Freebandz, Generation Now, and Atlantic.
