Les Aristos
Les Aristos is a 2006 French comedy directed by Charlotte de Turckheim. The Neuville-Arbac family are penniless aristocrats who still live in a crumbling castle.
To survive, they resort to selling fake antiques to tourists. Then a bailiff from the Tax Office arrives, demanding nearly two million euros in back taxes. If they can’t pay, their family estate will be seized. They scramble to raise the money and try many ideas, from visiting wealthy distant cousins to looking for work and asking friends for help.
The eldest son, Charles-Antoine, is supposed to marry a rich heiress, Marie-Astrid Saumur-Chantilly Fortemure, to save the family. But he falls in love with Pauline, which creates a conflict between his heart and his duty to the family.
Cast includes Charlotte de Turckheim, Jacques Weber, Catherine Jacob, Urbain Cancelier and Armelle. The film runs 79 minutes and is in French. It was released on 20 September 2006. It was produced by Hugo Films, with a budget of about $8.2 million and a box office of about $6.3 million.
