Leontine Nzeyimana
Leontine Nzeyimana (born December 27, 1973) is a Burundian politician from Makamba Province. She has served as the Minister for East African Community Affairs in the Office of the President since May 8, 2012. From August 2011 to May 2012, she was a member of Parliament for Makamba Province.
Nzeyimana studied at Tumaini University, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in 2002, and later earned a Master of International Relations from United States International University in 2005. Her early career included work with Burundi's Rule of Law Project (2005), as assistant to the Central Bank Governor at the Bank of the Republic of Burundi (2006–2007), including scheduling and translation duties, and a stint with the United Nations Development Programme (2007–2010) focused on improving Burundi's judiciary.
In addition to her ministerial role, she has served as a member of the East African Legislative Assembly (2017–2022) and as Secretary of the Standing Committee on Political Affairs, Administrative, Foreign Affairs, and the East African Community in Burundi's National Assembly. Nzeyimana is fluent in Kirundi, French, English, and Kiswahili.
