James Picken (footballer)

James Picken was an English footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He began as a junior with South Kirkby Common Road, then impressed enough to be taken on by South Kirkby and signed by Doncaster Rovers in August 1934. In April 1935 he moved to Frickley Colliery, and in August 1935 he joined Denaby United. He later returned to South Kirkby and played in the Yorkshire League. In February 1939 he had a short trial with Frickley Colliery but finished his career back at South Kirkby.
