Johan Gørrissen
Johan Fredrik Gørrissen (18 March 1907 – 2 April 1982) was a Norwegian chemical engineer and industrial leader. Born in Kristiania, he studied chemical engineering at the Norwegian Institute of Technology and graduated in 1935. He worked as an engineer at Christiania Spigerverk in the 1930s and later led Elektrokemisk. During World War II he helped lead Milorg, the Norwegian resistance, and he was arrested in October 1942 and sent to Sachsenhausen in 1943. He received the King's Medal for Courage in the Cause of Freedom. He died in 1982 and was buried at Ris.
