Lemmenjoki (river)
Lemmenjoki is a river in northern Finland, in the region of Lapland. It is about 80 kilometers long. The river starts at Nautajänkä, flows through Lake Paatari, and ends in Lake Inari. The name comes from the Sami word Leammijohka, which means "warm river" or "the river of love." A common but incorrect folk idea links the name to the Finnish word lempi, meaning "love." The Lemmenjoki National Park gets its name from the river.
