Lee Mack's All Star Cast
Lee Mack's All Star Cast is a BBC Saturday night comedy show hosted by Lee Mack. In its first series, six forty‑minute episodes aired on BBC One from 18 June to 23 July 2011. Each week, Mack is joined by two celebrity guests and a live studio audience for stand‑up, sketches and games.
The show opens with a short monologue about the week’s news. Then comes an audience competition where viewers portray a chosen emotion. Three or four people with especially funny faces tell a story linked to their portrayal. A stand‑up comedian performs for about 4–5 minutes. A segment where audience members who resemble celebrities are interviewed by the celebrity is also shown; the winner appears in the next week’s ad. This look‑alike game ran for the first three episodes and was later replaced with a different audience‑celebrity exchange in which the audience gives items to the guests and Mack and the guests wear silly costumes.
Celebrities who haven’t taken part before sometimes perform sketches with Lee. Home viewers can join via Skype to perform a 15‑second act; the winner receives a small crown marked with the number 15. After all acts, Mack interviews the guests, and each show ends with a musical performance to promote a song or act. Between broadcasts, adverts on BBC One often feature a studio audience member who won the previous week’s “You Got the Look” game.
The show was produced at BBC Television Centre, executive produced by Neil Webster. It aired in English in the United Kingdom and ran for six episodes.
