Le Mont-sur-Lausanne is a municipality in the canton of Vaud, Switzerland, and part of the Lausanne district. It is a suburb of Lausanne, located to the north of the city near the Jorat woods. The town was first mentioned in 1237 as Monte super Lausannam.

The area covers about 9.8 square kilometers. About half of the land is used for agriculture, around 18% is forested, and roughly 30% is settled with buildings or roads. The municipality includes the village sections Le Petit-Mont, Le Grand-Mont and Les Planches. The coat of arms shows a red field with three silver hills and a horse chestnut tree growing from the middle hill.

As of 2020, about 9,100 people live there. In 2008, about 18% of residents were foreign nationals. The majority speak French, with small numbers speaking German or Italian.

Housing is mainly single-family homes, with some multi-family buildings and apartments. Le Mont-sur-Lausanne is a net importer of workers, meaning more people commute into the municipality for work than leave to work elsewhere. Many residents work in Lausanne or nearby areas.

Politically, the area reflects cantonal trends, and the population is mostly Roman Catholic or Swiss Reformed, with other religions and non-religious residents as well. Education levels are high, with many residents having completed upper secondary or tertiary education.

The municipality is part of the Lausanne agglomeration and lies on its northern edge, near the Jorat woods. The Lausanne district was reorganized in 2006. Le Mont-sur-Lausanne has a twin town, Samedan, in Switzerland.
