Lars Herrmann
Lars Herrmann (born 12 April 1977 in Leisnig, then East Germany) is a German police officer and politician. He joined the AfD in 2013 and was part of its nationalist wing. He served as a member of the Bundestag from 2017 to 2021. In 2019, Herrmann and several AfD colleagues signed a letter asking Björn Höcke, the party leader in Thuringia, to focus on his role there and not cause a nationwide split in the party. He left the AfD in 2019 and joined the CDU in 2022. Before entering politics, he worked for the Federal Police (Bundespolizei).
