Lama Mocogno is a municipality in the Province of Modena, in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy. It lies about 50 km southwest of Bologna and 40 km southwest of Modena, near Monte Cimone. It borders Montecreto, Palagano, Pavullo nel Frignano, Polinago and Riolunato. The area is 63.8 square kilometers and the town sits at 842 meters above sea level. As of July 31, 2015, about 2,760 people lived there, and they are known as the Lamèsi. The mayor is Arnaldo Ricchi. The postal code is 41023 and the dialing code is 0536. The patron saint is Saint Lucy, celebrated on December 13. In the Frignanese dialect, it is called La Lama.
