The Lakeland Flying Tigers are a minor league baseball team based in Lakeland, Florida. They play in the Florida State League as the Single-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers. Home games are held at Publix Field at Joker Marchant Stadium.

History in brief
- The team started in 1960 as the Lakeland Indians, a Cleveland Indians affiliate.
- After a one-year break, the operation returned in 1962 as the Lakeland Giants, a San Francisco Giants affiliate.
- In 1963, they became part of the Detroit Tigers’ farm system and were known as the Lakeland Tigers. They changed to the Flying Tigers in 2007 to honor Lakeland’s aviation history and the WWII Flying Tigers.
