Lake Hule
Lake Hule, or Laguna de Hule (meaning Lake of Rubber), is a freshwater crater lake in Costa Rica’s northern highlands. It is part of a small lake system with Lake Congo and Lake Bosque Alegre inside the Bosque Alegre Wildlife Refuge, in Los Ángeles Sur, Río Cuarto, Alajuela province. The lake sits about 740 meters above sea level and has a nearly circular shape with no active volcanic activity.
Three small streams draining the north slope of Congo Volcano feed Lake Hule. It measures up to 1 km in length, covers about 0.547 square kilometers, and reaches depths of up to 19.8 meters. Coordinates: 10°17′43″N 84°12′32″W.
