Kyrbasia
The kyrbasia (Old Persian: kurpāsa) was a hat worn by the satraps of the Achaemenid Empire. Afterward, it was adopted by several later dynasties, including the Arsacids of Parthia, the Ariarathids of Cappadocia, the Orontids of Sophene, and the Frataraka of Persis. It is sometimes wrongly called a bashlyk, a Turkic word for a similar hat used in the Middle Ages by the Cumans, Kipchaks, and Tatars. The kyrbasia may be the same as the headgear called kidaris in ancient sources.
