Arrow Rock State Historic Site
Arrow Rock State Historic Site is an outdoor museum along the Missouri River in Arrow Rock, Missouri. It preserves part of the historic Arrow Rock village and is part of the Arrow Rock Historic District, a National Historic Landmark, highlighting the area's important role as a stop on the Santa Fe Trail.
The site features a visitor center with exhibits about Arrow Rock and the Boone’s Lick country. The Bingham Home, built by artist George Caleb Bingham, is an furnished house museum showing life in the 1880s. The 1834 Huston Tavern operates as a restaurant. A walking tour brings visitors to historic buildings such as the old courthouse, the town doctor’s home, and the stone jail.
Facilities include camping and hiking trails. The bridge and shelters on the site are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Works Progress Administration projects built here during the 1930s add to the park’s historical character.
