Kraul Mountains
Kraul Mountains, or Kraulberge in German, are a chain of mountains and rocky peaks that rise through the ice in western Queen Maud Land, Antarctica. They stretch northeast from Veststraumen Glacier for about 70 nautical miles (130 kilometers). They were discovered by the Third German Antarctic Expedition of 1938–1939, led by Captain Alfred Ritscher, and named for Captain Otto Kraul, the expedition’s ice pilot.
