More Pep
More Pep is a 6-minute black-and-white animated short from Fleischer Studios, released on June 19, 1936. It stars Betty Boop with Pudgy the Puppy, with Mae Questel voicing Betty. The cartoon is directed by Dave Fleischer and produced by Max Fleischer and Adolph Zukor.
In the story, Uncle Max draws Betty and Pudgy out of the inkwell. Pudgy is tired and doesn’t want to perform, so Betty uses pen and ink to create a machine that gives Pudgy more pep. But when she loads it with too many ingredients, the machine speeds up everything—Betty, Pudgy, the city, the parade, the traffic, and even items inside a house like the wall clock and a painting on the wall.
