Klaus Thomsen
Klaus Thomsen (born 26 April 1986 in Haderslev, Denmark) is a Danish former handball player. He spent his entire career in Denmark and played for the Danish national team between 2013 and 2021. He started with Næssets IF and Team Haderslev, then joined Viborg HK in 2004. After an injury, he moved to Lemvig-Thyborøn Håndbold, helping them reach the Danish top division in 2009. In 2012 he switched to Team Tvis Holstebro, and with them he reached the final four of the EHF Europa Cup in 2012/13. In 2014 he moved to Bjerringbro-Silkeborg, where he played until 2021 and won the Danish championship in 2016. Thomsen earned 20 caps and scored 4 goals for Denmark, debuting on 5 April 2013. At the 2014 European Championship hosted in Denmark, he and the team finished as runners-up. Outside playing, he coached a youth team at Tvis KFUM and worked at the Elitesport Academy in Holstebro. He retired from handball in 2021.
