Teddy Bridgewater
Teddy Bridgewater is an American football quarterback who, as of 2025, plays for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was born on November 10, 1992, in Miami, Florida, and shined at Miami Northwestern High School, where the football field was later renamed in his honor. He played college football at Louisville, leading the Cardinals to a Sugar Bowl win in 2013 and setting school records. Drafted 32nd overall by the Minnesota Vikings in 2014, Bridgewater became the starter in his rookie season and helped Minnesota win the NFC North in 2015, earning a Pro Bowl nod and Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year honors. He suffered a severe ACL injury in 2016, missing most of that season and much of the next.
After leaving Minnesota, Bridgewater spent time with the Jets and Saints, starting several games for New Orleans in 2019. He then played for the Carolina Panthers in 2020, the Denver Broncos in 2021, and the Miami Dolphins in 2022. He joined the Detroit Lions in 2023, briefly retired to coach at his high school in 2024, then returned to the Lions later that year. In 2025, he signed with the Buccaneers. Off the field, Bridgewater is a Christian who earned a degree in Sports Administration from Louisville; his mother, Rose Murphy, is a breast cancer survivor.
