Kinrara (volcano)
Kinrara is a volcano in Queensland, Australia. It is one of the youngest volcanoes in the country and last erupted in the Holocene era, about 7,000 years ago (± 2,000 years). Lava flowed up to 55 kilometers from the crater and covered about 173 square kilometers. The Gugu-Badhun people have oral stories that may describe the eruption, dating to roughly 230 generations ago (± 70). The wetlands at the Valley of Lagoons lie near where Kinrara’s lava flow meets the Burdekin River.
