Ken Weatherley
Ken Weatherley (Kenneth Frank Weatherley), born 24 November 1947, is a British former professional tennis player. He began competing in 1963 at the Palace Hotel Covered Courts Championships in Torquay and played for Surrey. He was educated at Millfield School and the University of Cambridge. Weatherley reached the main draw at Wimbledon in 1972 and also played doubles that year, advancing to the second round.
His singles highlight was winning the Les Diablerets International Championship in Switzerland in 1971. He was a finalist at several other events, including the Grantown-on-Spey Open in 1964, and four finals in 1971: Torquay Open, Ascona International, Ilkley Open, and the Israel International Invitation, all of which he lost. Weatherley played his last singles tournament in 1977 at the Tally-Ho! Open.
After retiring, he served on the Wimbledon committee and founded the charity Tennis First to help fund young players. He also helped secure funding for Emma Raducanu when she was twelve.
