Queenscliffe Historical Museum
Queenscliffe Historical Museum is a regional cultural history museum in Queenscliff, Victoria, Australia. It is part of the Museum Accreditation Program and began in 1974 to collect materials about the Borough of Queenscliffe, which includes Queenscliff, Point Lonsdale and Swan Island. The collection numbers in the thousands and includes photographs, documents, paintings, newspapers, toys, and shipwreck relics recognised by Heritage Victoria.
In 2022 a new museum building opened in the Queenscliffe Community Hub, which also houses the Queenscliff Library and the Visitor Information Centre. The museum is run by volunteers, with about 370 members, including around 130 volunteers (as of 2024).
The museum runs monthly talks on the fourth Friday of each month at the Point Lonsdale Community Hall (Bowen Rd). Local historians discuss significant people, places and events in the Borough of Queenscliffe. The public can access the museum’s archive and its database, which hold thousands of documents, photographs and records of people, buildings and events from the region.
